Quantum Optics XI is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all participants. All participants are expected to be treated with equal consideration and respect. We expect all participants — including attendees, speakers, exhibitors, staff, and contractors — to maintain the highest professional standards throughout all conference activities.
All forms of bullying, discrimination, and harassment — sexual or otherwise — are strictly prohibited. Retaliation against anyone who reports a violation is also forbidden. Prohibited behaviors include but are not limited to:
Repeated mistreatment by one or more individuals using verbal, physical, or social means that cause humiliation, harm, or distress to another person.
Unjust or prejudicial treatment of individuals based on personal attributes such as race, sex, age, color, sexual orientation, body size, ethnic or national origin, disability, or religion, where such attributes are unrelated to professional merit.
Unwanted, unwelcomed, and uninvited behavior that demeans, threatens, or offends another person and creates a hostile environment. This includes verbal epithets, physical contact or assault, and visual insults.
Conduct based on sex or sexual orientation, including unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. This includes situations where submission to or rejection of such conduct is used as a basis for decisions affecting an individual's participation.
Any negative action taken against a person for reporting a violation, including exclusion from activities, damage to reputation, or other adverse treatment.
If you experience or witness conduct that violates this policy, you are encouraged to report it. When documenting an incident, record as many details as possible: names of individuals involved, dates, times, locations, and direct statements or descriptions of behavior.
You may report violations through any of the following channels:
All reports will be investigated promptly and impartially. Confidentiality will be maintained to the greatest extent possible consistent with a thorough and fair investigation.
Violations of this policy may result in sanctions including, but not limited to: a warning, suspension from conference activities, immediate ejection from the event without refund, prohibition from future events, termination of membership, or notification of the violator's employer.
